The Brilliant Smart Dimmer Switch turns regular lights into smart lights and make smart bulbs even smarter. The Brilliant Smart Dimmer Switch combines with a Brilliant Smart Home Control to create the world’s first integrated smart lighting and home control system. This enables smart lighting to be deployed throughout the entire home, with control capabilities built into the walls and accessible by touch, by voice, and remotely via app.
The Brilliant Smart Dimmer Switch installs in place of any standard light switch and comes in four colors to match any decor wall plate. It fits any standard electrical box and doesn’t require any custom wiring, modifications, or hubs. A neutral and ground wire are required to install your Brilliant Smart Dimmer Switch and at least one Brilliant Smart Home Control must be installed before you install any Dimmer Switches.
Brilliant Dimmer Switches and Brilliant Plugs need to be able to talk to a Brilliant Control. They can do this by automatically "hopping" from one to another until they reach a Control. This all happens automatically, with no configuration required, and it means that Plugs and Switches can function well even where there is a bad Wi-Fi signal. This can happen over any distance, as long as each Switch or Plug is close enough to another one to communicate, and ultimately reach a Control. How close this depends on the construction of your home, but generally, each hop from one device to another should be within about three rooms apart. As long as there is a way for each Switch or Plug to hop from one device to another and reach a Control, the whole network will work. If you find that you need a signal boost, try putting a Brilliant Plug between devices so they have shorter hops when they talk to each other.
Yes, the Brilliant Dimmer Switch may be used for multiway configuration. Brilliant Dimmer Switches can control single pole lights and circuits with multiple switches. All switches in a 3-way or multiway circuit must be Brilliant devices (either a Home Control or Dimmer Switch). Installation requires the Brilliant Mobile App to help assist setup.
