Brilliant launches new Somfy integration

We’re excited to announce a new partner and a whole new category of smart home products that Brilliant can control: Somfy motorized window blinds and shades!

This new partnership and integration offer the ability to add natural lighting and privacy control and increased energy efficiency to every Brilliant-powered smart home. 

Somfy’s new TaHoma Gateway, Somfy interior shades, blinds and draperies, exterior screens, awnings, and pergolas can now be controlled and automated using the Brilliant Smart Home System.

Since we first launched the Brilliant Smart Home System back in 2018, smart shades has been a top request from Brilliant homeowners, integrators, home builders, and multifamily developers. We’re excited to continue to deliver new experiences to our community and further unify smart homes throughout North America.

Key features:

• Convenient Control & Access: Easily control shades in any room or all at once without needing a phone or app. Brilliant offers a variety of convenient ways to manage and automate Somfy motorized shades and blinds and other smart home devices: intuitive touchscreen controls, touch sliders, built-in Alexa voice commands, home automation scenes, and also an all-in-one mobile app.

• Natural Lighting and Privacy Control: Check which shades are open and closed from any Brilliant Smart Home Control panel (for Somfy models that support shade level/status) and control them all on-demand or through schedules and scenes.
• Increased Energy Efficiency: Automate your shades to save on energy costs by letting in maximum sunlight in the winter and blocking rays in the summer.
• Home Automation Scenes: Control groups of shades together or create custom scenes to control multiple smart home products simultaneously. For example, secure your home at night with the simple tap of a “Goodnight” scene that closes all shades, locks all doors, turns off the lights and lowers the temp, or wake up with the sun by scheduling your bedroom blinds to open at sunrise and turn up your thermostat on workdays.
• Whole-Home App Control: Use Brilliant’s all-in-one mobile app for iOS and Android to control Somfy window shades and all your other smart home devices from anywhere with a single app.
